Security Enhancements Further Help Enterprises to Keep Content Secure

Accellion, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise mobile solutions that enable increased productivity and security, today announced it has added a number of new security enhancements and features. Accellion, who will be attending RSA 2015 (booth S526), added these new capabilities to provide enterprise IT teams with greater control and security over user access to business content.
The new security features that have been added to the kiteworks mobile content platform include:
- Uploader role: This new role enables kiteworks users to allow an external party to securely upload a file into a specified folder, without granting them access to all of the other content saved there. This increases productivity when working with external parties such as customers or vendors who need to upload information, without increasing data security risks by exposing external parties to sensitive information.
- IP restriction: IT teams can now restrict where someone can access enterprise content sources from, based on the IP address of the device being used. This enables IT to ensure that sensitive information that should only be accessed through an organization’s network, is not accessed from a non-secure hotel or conference WiFi connection.
- File level expiration: When sharing time sensitive materials, kiteworks users can now set expiration dates at the file level, to ensure that documents such as business contracts are only accessible for specific dates before the file link expires.
- OpenText eDocs content connector: Now enterprise organizations can provide employees and external parties secure access to content stored in OpenText eDocs. All content accessed via kiteworks is encrypted and tracked, providing IT with mobile content management including centralized audit and reporting capabilities, to ensure enterprise security and compliance.
- Mobile printing via PrinterOn: With kiteworks, now mobile-enabled employees can securely print the content they want, from the device they choose, whenever they need, further optimizing the mobile workflow.
“In a time when enterprise organizations are suffering massive security breaches, it’s more important than ever for leaders to ensure they have the right security and control over sensitive business information,” said Vidhya Ranganathan, SVP of Products at Accellion. “Our new security features and enhancements will ensure that IT teams have the most advanced capabilities on the market to help keep their sensitive business data secure.
