Palo Alto, Calif., November 1, 2021 – Kiteworks, the leading platform for ensuring regulatory compliance and effectively managing risk with every send, share, receive, and save of sensitive content, announced today the four strategic executive hires over the past 12 months that bring seasoned leadership, industry experience, and business innovation for the company’s next phase of growth.

Tim Freestone: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
Tim Freestone joined Kiteworks as CMO in May 2021 with the charter to build a world-class marketing organization focused on growing revenue opportunities through expanded brand awareness and engagement and integrated, data-driven, go-to-market programs. Freestone oversees a global marketing function that includes product marketing, sales development, corporate marketing, growth marketing, and field and events marketing.
Freestone brings over 15 years of experience in marketing and business leadership, with extensive experience in growing topline revenue through innovative acquisition and consumption marketing programs, brand strategy, and process and organizational optimization. Freestone previously served as Vice President of Marketing at Contrast Security, a scale-up application security company where he built out a global marketing organization, modernized and mechanized marketing execution, and elevated the company into a world-class brand. Before Contrast, he served as the Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Fortinet, a multi-billion-dollar, next-generation firewall, and cloud security company, where he spearheaded a rebranding effort and built comprehensive go-to-market operations for eight solutions encompassing more than 50 products.
Freestone has held other senior marketing roles at NetApp and co-founded an agency that created and ran hundreds of marketing programs for technology companies—from fast-growth startups to Fortune 500 enterprises.
Amit Toren: Vice President, Corporate and Business Development
Amit Toren came to Kiteworks in late 2020 with the mandate to identify and manage growth opportunities through mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic partnerships. Reporting directly to the CEO, Toren is focused on sourcing, evaluation, and execution of acquisitions and partnerships from strategy through value capture. He also oversees business analytics, including analysis, tracking, and reporting related to sales, pricing, operations, product performance, support, customer success, and the company’s overall performance.
Toren brings more than 15 years of technology industry and management consulting experience. He specializes in strategic growth, transformation management, business development, and operations management. Prior to joining Kiteworks, Toren led dozens of due diligence processes and transformational deals for private equity, Fortune 500, and hyper-growth private companies as a Director in PwC’s management consulting practice. His role included leading business development initiatives and winning and expanding significant accounts for the firm. Among various other strategic initiatives, Toren managed a $500 million acquisition for a leading pre-IPO startup company, from pre-sign through close to integration planning. Previously, he led the post-acquisition transformation for a $1.1 billion company that drove over a $50 million EBITDA increase across 25 strategic initiatives.
Toren holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.Sc. (cum laude) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ben Gurion University. Captain (Ret.) Toren is a former Department Head at Israel Defense Forces Intelligence Unit 8200, where he founded and led a special data analytics team that received the Israel Defense Prize for saving hundreds of lives.
Andreas Deliandreadis: Vice President of Sales, EMEA
Andreas Deliandreadis came to Kiteworks in June 2021 and is charged as an expansion specialist to drive international revenue growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). He brings seasoned expertise in sales management, sales strategy, channel management, and market development—with more than 20 years in technology and cybersecurity sales and business development in EMEA markets.
Prior to joining Kiteworks, Deliandreadis served as the Vice President of Sales at eperi, a data encryption provider for cloud applications, where he led the worldwide sales organization. He also served as the Vice President of Sales for Europe at Trustwave, a leading managed security services provider focused on threat detection and response, and has held other senior sales leadership roles at Everbridge, among others. Deliandreadis has a keen interest in technology, which has always guided his career, having started as an engineer at HP.
Deliandreadis holds a master’s in Data Communication from Brunel University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Patras.
Patrick Spencer: Vice President of Corporate Marketing
Patrick Spencer was recruited to Kiteworks as VP of Corporate Marketing in October 2021. Responsible for communications, customer marketing, content marketing, and creative services, Spencer is charged with building thought leadership and communications programs that increase brand awareness and engagement and propel lead-generation programs, engaging with and mobilizing Kiteworks’ thousands of customers and partners via a multi-touch advocacy strategy, and operationalizing SEO strategies and marketing processes.
Spencer comes to Kiteworks with nearly two decades of experience in various senior marketing roles within the cybersecurity sector at Contrast Security, Fortinet, and Symantec. At Contrast Security, he worked with Contrast Labs to institute data science strategies to mine product data used to produce thought leadership reports that were pivotal competitive differentiators and demand-generation vehicles. Prior to Contrast, Spencer built and led world-class content marketing and customer marketing organizations at Fortinet, Symantec, and Sun Microsystems.
Spencer is the recipient of numerous corporate, industry, and media awards, having served as the editor in chief and publisher for various digital publications and initiatives such as CIO Digest at Symantec (one of the first B2B publications released as a native mobile app), The CISO Collective at Fortinet, and the Inside AppSec Podcast at Contrast Security. The Symantec Podcast, which his team founded and oversaw, was one of the first B2B podcasting programs in the industry. He has published extensively, including numerous refereed journal articles, and holds a doctorate from the University of Durham and two masters and a bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University.
